It's Saturday, Be Productive!
From there, we messed around with some pictures, including this huge stitched together set of four medium format slides:
The full-size file is large enough to print a picture that is 30"x100". Pretty big...
After that, I went for a 30 mile ride on Eddy again. I was going to go farther, but really wanted to get home. I needed to work on a brush:
And Cookie wanted to go to the beach, as she explains to Eddy here:
And now, as I blog, I just brewed up some decaf ground in the Turkish grinder. Mmm good. Bedtime soon though...

30/365 - Bolinas Lagoon
Today was a good photo day. Lori and I went for a ride on our bikes and saw lots of deer, two hawks perched very close to the road, two (not just one!) bobcats, oh yeah and some humans. It was 60 degrees and very nice.
We had a good ride, but not far enough. 30 miles with lots of climbing etc., but we're going to have to do better. I am riding alone tomorrow I guess, so maybe I will try for 50-55 miles. I'm racing (sort of) in a half marathon on Sunday. I say sort of because it is really just a test to see how far I need to go to get ready for the Dipsea this year. My goal is top 100, and that means I have to have some serious game on Dipsea day.
Here are some more photos:

29/365 - Fresh Ground
Having become a newby coffee geek (roasting my own beans, etc.) I needed to feed my habit while traveling. This german-made turkish grinder fills the bill. Only about 25% of the TSA security people think it is a hand grenade/pipe bomb, and it does a great job grinding my fresh-roasted beans just the way I like them...
The grinder co-starred in an earlier Polaroid shot from a few days ago, but I felt it deserved top billing at least once, so here it is!
Oh, and my very talented mother made the crochet table cloth. Thanks Mom!
27/365 - In Winnipeg
This is from Tuesday evening in my hotel room. I took it with the Polaroid back on my Hasselblad. Instant, non-digital photography.

28/365 - Ice in Winnipeg? Naw!
I have been in Wnnipeg the last couple of days. It's been about -20C until this afternoon. It warmed up to about -12 when it clouded up this afternoon. Very nice, but we still had to de-ice before taking off for Denver.
My flight is delayed out of Denver, but at least I will be home late tonight or early tomorrow morning. I might even stop at the Golden Gate Bridge for a night photo before heading for the Mountain.
The last couple of days' photos have been on film, but this looks like it will be the best of the day, so I decided to post it w/o waiting for the film to be developed. If I have a sudden moment of inspiration w/ film, I will replace this one.
I'm not feeling inspired though...Just tired.

OKFree Feedback
I'm not trying to stir anything up. I'm just saying, a little bit of information is valuable, and I offered it up to the group.
Jason points out that the roads will be back roads, not state highways. Moni says I don't have the real route -- I thought I had mentioned that. Larry tells me he doesn't always follow the route anyway, so just have some fun.
All I was saying was, if I gave you a list of towns for my new ride, the California Cassette, like this: Yreka, Bartle, Old Station, Twain, Oroville, Auburn, Twin Bridges, and Gardnerville (in Nevada), you would be pretty interested to see where they are. (Even I didn't know where all of these towns were, so if you already do, go to the head of the class). Of course, in California you would have some serious hills to worry about, so seeing where the towns are adds to the value -- not as big of an issue in Oklahoma. Still even if the routes aren't fully worked out, seeing the towns on a map would be useful. Just to prove it, let me take 10 minutes and make the connections:

Now we know some things. We are starting on the far northern border and finishing in Nevada near Lake Tahoe. We're riding in the foothills and the mountains for a lot of the ride. Plus the fun of the flats in the Sacramento Valley. And if you click on the "view larger map" link you get mileage between the towns.
Oh, but this isn't the actual route of the California Cassette. I'll let you know when I get the actual route worked out completely. In the mean time, ride some hills. That's all I'm sayin', it's information you can use.
I'm looking forward to OKFree. I think it is going to be a lot of fun. And, I connected the towns, and I think that is useful. I might even be like Larry and ride my own route even when I get my mailed package of details. See you in June! :-)

Oklahoma Freewheel Map
I asked Bro' Hal about a map, and he suggested creating my own on Google as he did. Okay, fine. If the OKFree organization won't take the time, I guess we can all do it on our own. Or, you can look at my map and save yourself some time.

Of course, I can't guarantee this is the route. But I did connect the towns. That's about the best we can do right now. For the moment, this is the route I'm riding... Seems like they could give us a bit more detail, but I guess it would spoil the fun if we had all the information at once.

25/365 -- Stinson Beach -- Father and Son
Cookie needed a run on the beach, so we took her down to Stinson Beach at sunset. The colors weren't great, so I went with the B&W version.
